Ms. Avellini graduated from the University of Scranton with a Bachelor's degree in History in 1994. After spending a year in Medford, Oregon volunteering with the Jesuit Volunteer Corp, she went on to obtain her juris doctor in 1998 from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. Ms. Avellini began her career in litigation with McDermott & McGee in 1998, where she was responsible for a large insurance defense caseload from initial appearance through verdict. She specialized in handling products liability, construction defect and construction injury cases, but also developed a broad range of experience in disputes involving premises liability, property damage, breach of contract, motor vehicle negligence, wrongful death, public entity liability, employment and insurance coverage disputes. Since 2003, Ms. Avellini has focused her practice on the defense of companies involved in asbestos litigation in the state and federal courts in California and in the Asbestos MDL in Pennsylvania as Senior Counsel while working with Jackson & Wallace, and then Jackson, Jenkins Renstrom, LLP. She focused her practice upon the defense of clients who manufactured and sold asbestos products and who were sued under different theories of products liability and negligence. Ms. Avellini has also authored motions on the appellate level in both California and New Jersey, and has published opinions in the New Jersey Appellate Division, New Jersey Supreme Court, and in the Asbestos MDL.
Ms. Avellini returned to McDermott & McGee in September 2014.
